At School Connect India, we strive to make the website creation process as seamless and straightforward as possible. While we handle most of the technical work, there are a few key responsibilities that customers must take on to ensure everything runs smoothly. Here’s what you need to know:
Responsibility No. 1 : Purchasing a Domain Name ONLY if you require Custom Domain Name
If you would like to have a custom domain name such as www.yourschoolname.com, you will need to purchase it yourself from any domain provider of your choice. This allows you the flexibility to choose a unique and personalized web address for your school.
The charges for domain name will cost around 1,000 rupees. Any charges you pay will go directly to them. Our services are free as promised.
If you want to buy a domain name ending with .ac.in or .edu.in, you should purchase it from www.registry.ernet.in. This is a government organization, and according to the rules of Indian Government, they are the only authority authorized to sell these domain names.
Responsibility No. 2 : Acquiring Web Hosting
- Why It’s Necessary: Web hosting is the service that stores your website’s files and makes them accessible online. Without hosting, your website cannot go live.
- Your Responsibility: Customers are responsible for purchasing web hosting from a provider of their choice. We can recommend reliable hosting services and assist you in the setup process if needed.
Responsibility No. 3 : Providing Accurate Information
- You must provide us with accurate and complete details about your school, including content, images, and other materials you want on your website. Timely communication and feedback are also essential to keep the project on track.
Responsibility No. 4 : Ongoing Website Management and Content Entry
- While we provide a user-friendly CMS (Content Management System), it is the customer’s responsibility to add and manage their own data on the website. This includes uploading content, such as text, images, documents, and updating any information as needed. We do not handle content entry or updates; this allows you to have complete control over your website’s content.
- Support and Training: To help you with this process, we offer training resources and guidance on how to use the CMS effectively. If you encounter any issues or need assistance, our support team is available to help.
Responsibility No. 5 : Making the Necessary Investment
- Why It’s Required: Although our software is free, certain services, such as domain registration and hosting, require financial investment to keep your website online.
- Your Responsibility: It’s your responsibility to make the necessary purchases and payments for these services. This investment ensures that your website remains live and fully operational.
